Magdalene Clare Shaughnessy (aka Maggie)
Age: 19 years old.
Horse: I don’t currently own a horse, however I am ‘honorary mommy’ to a paint horse named “Chigger Town” (nicknamed Pibb) and have been fortunate enough to have always had wonderful horses to show.
Discipline: I’m an “all-arounder.” I have shown hunt seat, western, and dressage. Someday (soon!) I would really love to show saddle seat.
How long have I been riding: 10 years
Future riding goals: I’d really like to win western or hunter pleasure youth at the GN. Later on I would love to own a park horse and win amateur park world. =) Also, I am going to BREAK my habit of ‘steering down.’
My greatest riding accomplishments:
-2007 Training Level Dressage Junior Exhibitor World and National Championship with Misty Green Hennessey
-Silver medals in both western and dressage
-2008 Hunt Seat Equitation 17 year olds Grand National Championship with Gaits of Gold
-2008 top 5 in the Hunt Gold Medal with Gaits of Gold
-2007 & 2008 top 10 Hunt Seat EQ World Championship
The biggest lesson riding has taught me: Discipline; work hard and things will go your way.
Other activities: Sewing horse show clothes, reading, learning about cars, learning how to shoot, spending time with my wonderful friends, going to concerts/listening to music, piercings, road trips, enjoying my pet fish and cats.
